Pask Wins Regional Trophy at
Decanter WWA 2012
Pask Winery took out the top regional prize in its category for
NZ Chardonnay as well as four other awards across the highly
competitive Decanter World Wine Awards in
London
The winery won Gold for the Declaration
Chardonnay 2009 (which claimed the Regional Trophy for best New
Zealand Chardonnay), as well Silver Awards for the
Declaration Merlot 2007 and Declaration Syrah 2009. The Declaration
Cabernet Merlot Malbec 2007 was highly commended.
"The quality of any awards is only as good as the individual
judges, DWWA chair Steve Spurrier said, and we have the best judges
in the World." Over 200 wine merchants, sommeliers, journalists and
authors, including 54 Masters Of Wine and 11 Master Sommeliers took
part in the judging.
Pask Director and Winemaker Kate Radburnd said "New Zealand's
success at the DWWA reinforces our quality status on the world wine
stage across a wide range of wine styles. We are delighted with the
results and particularly pleased to see recognition for Chardonnay
a variety we strongly endorse."
The prestigious award adds to the impressive list of accolades
that the winery continues to achieve. Pask wines have been awarded
trophies and gold medal success in the UK, Australia, Asia, United
States, Canada, Europe and New Zealand, across a range of varietals
and wine styles.
This continued recognition displays that Pask has firmly
established its wines as one of the top choices for wine drinkers
across the globe.
